1 . أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودٍ السِّجِسْتَانِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْمَنْصُورَ الْهَاشِمِيَّ الْخُرَاسَانِيَّ يَقُولُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الْفِتَنَ فِي أَدْيَانِكُمْ، فَتَمَسَّكُوا بِمَا عَلِمْتُمْ وَعَضُّوا عَلَيْهِ بِالنَّوَاجِذِ، وَلَا تَذَرُوهُ لِجَهْلِ جَاهِلٍ وَإِنْ رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ وَضَرَبَ بِمِخْفَقَتِهِ! قُلْتُ: جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ، أَرَأَيْتَ الْفِتَنَ الَّتِي قَدْ نَزَلَتْ بِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ وَالْعِرَاقِ؟! قَالَ: مَا فِيهَا مِنْ قَاتِلٍ وَلَا مَقْتُولٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ، قُلْتُ: لِمَ؟! قَالَ: يَطْلُبَانِ الْمُلْكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَيْلٌ لِطُغَاةِ الْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ! قُلْتُ: أَتَرَى بَعْدَ هَذِهِ الْفِتَنِ فِتْنَةً أَكْبَرَ مِنْهَا؟! قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَلَا تَأْتِي فِتْنَةٌ إِلَّا وَهِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا، وَإِنَّ أَكْبَرَ فِتْنَةٍ قَدْ بَقِيَتْ فِتْنَةُ السُّفْيَانِيِّ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْزِعُ جُلُودَ الرِّجَالِ وَيَبْقُرُ بُطُونَ النِّسَاءِ! قُلْتُ: إِذَا أَدْرَكْنَاهُ فَمَا نَفْعَلُ؟! قَالَ: إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَإِلَيَّ!
Translation of the saying:
Valid ibn Mahmud Sajestani informed us and said: I heard Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani saying to his helpers: Indeed I am afraid for you from seductions in your religions, so hold firmly on what you have gained knowledge about and hold it by teeth and do not let it go because of ignorance of an ignorant, even if he raise his voice and whip you! I said: may I be your sacrifice, do you see these seductions happening to people of Sham[1] and Iraq?! He said: there is no murderer and victim in them unless he is in fire! I said: why?! He said: both of them are seeking sovereignty! Then he said: woe to arrogant Arabs because of the badness that has gotten close! I said: do you see another seduction after these seductions which is greater than them?! He said: yes and no seduction will come unless it will be greater than the seduction before and certainly the greatest seduction left is the Sufyani seduction; because he skins men and rips women’s abdomen! I said: what shall we do if we saw him?! He said: if it happened, come to me!
Explanation of the saying:
The meaning of “seductions in religions” is turning from believes by deceiving or torture from the ignorant people and the meaning of what his honor’s helpers have gained knowledge about and must keep firmly and hold by teeth and not to let go because of ignorance of an ignorant even if he raise his voice and whip, is pure believes which have been explained in the honorable book “Return to Islam” with reliance on the Book of God and Mutawatir Sunnah of the Prophet and intellectual reasoning, and the meaning of “Sufyani” is a corrupt man who, based of Mutawatir narrations, will rise before the advent of Mahdi peace be upon him and will invite to his own caliphate and the meaning of “if it happened, come to me” is that if you saw this man raised and invited you to himself, come to me so that I give refuge from him and lead you towards Mahdi. As it has been said in another saying from his honor:
2 . أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْخُجَنْدِيُّ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْمَنْصُورِ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ حَدِيثَكُمْ هَذَا لَتَشْمَئِزُّ مِنْهُ قُلُوبُ الرِّجَالِ، فَانْبِذُوهُ إِلَيْهِمْ نَبْذًا، فَمَنْ أَقَرَّ بِهِ فَزِيدُوهُ وَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ فَذَرُوهُ! إِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ مِنْ أَنْ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ يَسْقُطُ فِيهَا كُلُّ ضَلِيعٍ وَدَاهِيَةٍ، حَتَّى يَسْقُطَ فِيهَا مَنْ يَشُقُّ الشَّعْرَ بِشَعْرَتَيْنِ، حَتَّى لَا يَبْقَى إِلَّا أَنَا وَأَصْحَابِي، فَنَرْتَحِلُ إِلَى الْمَهْدِيِّ!
Translation of the saying:
Hashem ibn Obayd Khojandi informed us and said: I came to Mansoor, so I heard him saying to his helpers: Indeed I swear to God that I know that the hearts of the people will hate this saying of yours, so throw a few of it toward them, then whoever admitted it, add more for him and whoever rejected it, leave him alone! Indeed there inevitably will be a seduction in which every clever and conversant person will fall into to the extent that one who would split one hair strand into two will also fall into it, to the extent that nobody will remain but me and my helpers, so we will migrate towards Mahdi!
Explanation of the saying:
The meaning of the saying which people’s hearts will hate, is the saying of “Return to Islam” and preparing grounds for advent of Mahdi peace be upon him which is not beloved by many people and the meaning of the mentioned seduction, is the confusing and inclusive doubts that will surround this saying and will prevent the greatest scholars and most educated people to know it even with all their "cleverness" and "conversance” and will lead them to stand against it; to the extent that astute and smart people will not be successful to understand it, to the extent that only a pious and chosen group will remain and they will accompany Mansoor toward Mahdi, so they will join his excellency.
