(27) Mahdi’s ruling sovereignty, from the perspective that itself is considered a ruling sovereignty, is not different from other ruling sovereignties and therefore, if establishing and maintaining other ruling sovereignties is possible, then establishing and maintaining Mahdi’s ruling sovereignty is also possible, and if establishing and maintaining Mahdi’s ruling sovereignty is not possible, then establishing and maintaining other ruling sovereignties is not possible either. 1 . أَخْبَرَنا أَتابَكُ بْنُ جَمْشِيدَ السُّغْدِيُّ، قالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْمَنْصُورِ الْهاشِمِيِّ الْخُراسانِيِّ وَعِنْدَهُ رِجالٌ، فَمَكَثْتُ حَتَّى خَرَجَ الرِّجالُ، فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيَّ وَقالَ: أَلَكَ إِلَيَّ حاجَةٌ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، مَسْأَلَةٌ، وَأَخَذْتُ أَرْتَعِدُ مِنْ مَهابَتِهِ، فَقالَ: سَلْ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْكَ! قُلْتُ: أَنْتَ الْخُراسانِيُّ؟! قالَ: أَنَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ خُراسانَ! قُلْتُ: لا أُرِيدُ هَذا، وَلَكِنْ أُرِيدُ الَّذِي يُوَطِّئُ لِلْمَهْدِيِّ سُلْطانَهُ! قالَ: أَنَا أُوَطِّئُ لِلْمَهْدِيِّ سُلْطانَهُ! قُلْتُ: لا أُرِيدُ هَذا، وَلَكِنْ أُرِيدُ الَّذِي يُؤَدِّي الرّايَةَ إِلَى الْمَهْدِيِّ! قالَ: إِنْ شاءَ اللَّهُ، إِنْ شاءَ اللَّهُ، ما يَمْنَعُكُمْ مِنْ أَنْ تَقُولُوا إِنْ شاءَ اللَّهُ؟! فَدَخَلَ رَجُلانِ فَقَطَعا عَلَيْهِ الْكَلامَ، فَقَضَى حاجَتَهُما، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيَّ فَقالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ عَلِيًّا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أُوتِيَ كِتابًا مِنْ كُتُبِ الْأَوَّلِينَ، فَنَظَرَ فِيهِ، فَوَجَدَ فِيهِ اسْمَهُ وَصِفَتَهُ، فبَكَى ثُمَّ قالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ أَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ مَنْسِيًّا، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَثْبَتَنِي عِنْدَهُ فِي صَحِيفَةِ الْأَبْرَارِ! فَلَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى حَمْدِ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَلَمْ يُجادِلْ فِي ذَلِكَ أَحَدًا!

Translation of the saying:

Atabak bin Jamshid Soghdi informed us and said: I came to Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani, while there were a few men around him, so I waited until the men left, then he turned to me and said: do you want something? I said: yes, I have a question and I began to tremble from his awe, he said: ask and keep calm! I said: are you the Khorasani? He said: I am a man from Khorasan! I said: “I did not mean that, I mean the man who prepares the ground for Mahdi’s sovereignty! He said: I prepare the ground for Mahdi’s sovereignty! I said: I did not mean that, I mean the man who gives the flag to Mahdi! He said: Insha’allah, Insha’allah, what prevents you from saying Insha’allah?! Two men entered at this time and cut off his words, so he took care of them, then he turned to me and said: it has come to me that Ali (Peace be upon him) was given a book from the books of the past, then he looked into it and found his name and his attribute in it, then he cried and said: thank God that I was not forgotten to him, thank God that He has remembered me in the book of good people! So he did nothing but thanking God and did not argue about it with anyone!

2 . أَخْبَرَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْهِرَوِيُّ، قالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْمَنْصُورَ يَقُولُ فِي دُعائِهِ: رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُرِيَنِي عُلُوَّ خَلِيفَتِكَ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ! قُلْتُ: جُعِلْتُ فِداكَ، أَتَدْعُو بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الدُّعاءِ وَأَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَدْفَعُ الرّايَةَ إِلَيْهِ وَتَكُونُ مَعَهُ فِي جَمِيعِ مَواطِنِهِ؟! قالَ: إِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ الْأَمْرُ كَما وَصَفْتَ، وَلَكِنْ كانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ يَقُولُ: مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ فَرِغَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَقَدْ كَذَبَ، لِأَنَّ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْمَشِيئَةَ فِي خَلْقِهِ، يُحْدِثُ ما يَشاءُ وَيَفْعَلُ ما يُرِيدُ! ثُمَّ قالَ الْمَنْصُورُ: رَحِمَ اللَّهُ امْرَءً مِنْكُمْ يَفْعَلُ ما يُؤْمَرُ وَلا يَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخائِضِينَ!

Translation of the saying:

Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Heravi informed us and said: I heard Mansoor says in his prayer: Oh Lord! I ask you to show me the superiority of Your Caliph on earth before I die! I said: may I be your sacrifice, do you do such a prayer, while you know that you will give the flag to his honor and you will accompany him everywhere he goes?! He said: I hope it will be what you described, but Abu Ja'far (Baqir) (Peace be upon him) said: whoever thinks that he has been exempted from making efforts, is lying; because God Almighty has will in His creation, He makes anything He wants happen, and He does whatever He wants! Then Mansoor said: may God have mercy on anyone of you who does what he has been commanded to and does not drown with those who are drowned (in the prediction of events of the end time)!

3 . أَخْبَرَنا عِيسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْجُوزَجانِيُّ، قالَ: سَأَلَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ أَسْتَأْذِنَ لَهُ عَلَى الْمَنْصُورِ، فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ قُلْتُ لَهُ: ما وَراءَكَ؟! قالَ: وَيْحَكَ يا أَبا مُحَمَّدٍ! خَرَجْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَجُلٍ لا يُفارِقُ الْقُرْآنَ وَلا يُفارِقُهُ، يُجْرِي اللَّهُ الْحَقَّ عَلَى لِسانِهِ، يُلْهِمُهُ إِلْهامًا، فَلا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْإِسْلامِ إِلَّا يُجِيبُ، يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الْعِلْمُ! قُلْتُ: أَما سَأَلْتَهُ مَنْ هُوَ؟ قالَ: بَلَى، قُلْتُ لَهُ: مَنْ أَنْتَ جُعِلْتُ فِداكَ؟ قالَ: أَمّا أَنا فَرَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم أُوَطِّئُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ عِتْرَتِهِ يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَهْدِيُّ، وَحَسْبُكَ هَذا! قُلْتُ: إِنَّا نَجِدُ فِي الْكُتُبِ أَنَّكَ خَلِيفَةُ اللَّهِ الْمَهْدِيُّ! قالَ: وَتَجِدُونَ ذَلِكَ؟! قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ، رَواهُ عَلِيُّ بنُ أَبِي طالِبٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، وَثَوْبانٌ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ! قالَ: أَمّا أَنا فَرَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم أُوَطِّئُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ عِتْرَتِهِ يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَهْدِيُّ، وَحَسْبُكَ هَذا! قُلْتُ: إِنَّا نَجِدُ فِي الْكُتُبِ أَنَّكَ وَزِيرُ الْمَهْدِيِّ وَوَصِيُّهُ الَّذِي يُوصِي إِلَيْكَ! قالَ: وَتَجِدُونَ ذَلِكَ؟! قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ، رَواهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبّاسٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعاصِ، وَجابِرُ بْنُ يَزيدَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، وَرَوَى النَّاسُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ اسْمَكَ وَاسْمَ أَبِيكَ وَسائِرَ صِفَتِكَ! قالَ: أَمّا أَنا فَرَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم أُوَطِّئُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ عِتْرَتِهِ يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَهْدِيُّ، وَحَسْبُكَ هَذا! قالَ: فَما سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِمّا نَجِدُ فِي الْكُتُبِ إِلَّا أَجابَنِي بِمِثْلِ هَذا الْجَوابِ!

Translation of the saying:

Isa bin Abdul Hamid Jozjani informed us and said: a scholar man requested me to get permission from Mansoor in order to meet him. I did it and his honor gave him permission. Then, when he came back from his honor I asked him: what did you leave behind? He said: woe to you Aba Mohammad! I just came back from a man who does not separate from Quran and Quran does not separate from him, God pours the truth on his tongue, He inspires him the inspirations, so nothing is being asked from him about Islam unless he answers, knowledge outbursts from him! I said: did you not ask him who he is?! He said: yes, I asked him who are you, may I be your sacrifice? He replied: I am a man from the nation of Mohammad (Peace be upon him and his progeny) that I prepare the ground for sovereignty of a man from his family whose name is Mahdi and this is enough for you to know! I asked: we find in the books that you are the guided caliph of God! He said: do you really find such a thing?! I said: yes I swear to God, Ali bin Abi Talib and Abdullah bin Masoud and Thouban the servant of Messenger of God (Peace be upon him and his progeny) have narrated this with the exact textual words! He said: but I am a man from the nation of Mohammad (Peace be upon him and his progeny) and I prepare the ground for sovereignty of a man from his family whose name is Mahdi and this is enough for you to know! I asked: we find in the books that you are the minister and executor of Mahdi and he will make his will to you! He said: do you find such a thing?! I said: yes I swear to God, Abdullah bin Abbas and Abdullah bin Masoud and Abdullah bin Omar and Abdullah bin Amroo son of Al-Aas (from Prophet) and Jabir bin Yazid from Abi Jafar (Baqir) have narrated that and people have narrated your name and your father’s name and your other visual characteristics from Ali! He said: but I am a man from the nation of Mohammad (Peace be upon him and his progeny) and I prepare the ground for sovereignty of a man from his family whose name is Mahdi and this is enough for you to know! The man said: so there was no question that I asked about what we find in the books unless he answered them all in this very same way!

4 . أَخْبَرَنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ داوُدَ الْفَيْض‌آبادِيُّ، قالَ: أَدْرَكْتُ الْمَنْصُورَ وَمَعَهُ غَنَمٌ يَرْعاها وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُ إِنْسانٌ، فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي: إِنْ لَمْ يُجِبْنِي فِي هَذِهِ السّاعَةِ فَلا يُجِيبُنِي أَبَدًا، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: جُعِلْتُ فِداكَ، أَنْتَ الَّذِي بَشَّرَنا بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟! قالَ: إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُ قَرَّتْ عَيْناكَ! فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي: أَبْهَمْتُ فَأَبْهَمَ! ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لَهُ: يَسْأَلُ النَّاسُ هَلْ أَنْتَ الْمَنْصُورُ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي كُتُبِ الْأَوَّلِينَ؟! قالَ: دَعْهُمْ يَابْنَ داوُدَ! فَوَاللَّهِ لَوْ قُلْتُ لَهُمْ نَعَمْ، فَيَقُولُونَ يَدَّعِي، وَلَوْ قُلْتُ لَهُمْ لا، فَيَقُولُونَ يَتَّقِي! فَدَعْهُمْ حَتَّى يَهْدِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَشاءُ! إِنَّهُ بِكَيْدِهِمْ عَلِيمٌ! قُلْتُ: جُعِلْتُ فِداكَ، إِنَّهُمْ يَسْأَلُونَنا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَماذَا نَقُولُ لَهُمْ؟ قالَ: لا يَسْأَلُونَكُمْ عَنْهُ إِلَّا ابْتِغاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ، وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ! فَإِذا سَأَلُوكُمْ عَنْهُ فَقُولُوا: ﴿عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ وَلا تُجادِلُوهُمْ فيهِ، وَلا تَجْزِمُوا عَلَيْهِمْ، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِرَجُلٍ يُخْبِرُهُمْ عَنِّي كَما أَخْبَرْتُهُمْ عَنْهُ، وَيُبَيِّنُ لَهُمْ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ!

Translation of the saying:

Ali bin Dawood Feizabadi informed us and said: I found Mansoor while he was grazing the sheep and there was no human with him, so I said to myself: if he does not answer me at this moment, he will never answer me, so I told him: may I be your sacrifice, are you the one whom the Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) informed us about?! He said: if you find him, your eyes will be brightened! Then I said to myself: I asked vaguely, he also answered vaguely! Then I told him: people are asking if you are the Mansoor whom they find (his promise) in the books of the past?! He said: leave them alone, son of Dawood! Because I swear to God if I say yes to them, they will say he is claiming, and if I say no to them, they will say he is doing Taqiyah! So leave them alone so that God guides whoever He wants from them! He is surely aware of their tricks! I said: may I be your sacrifice, they are asking us about it, so what do we tell them? He said: they do not ask you about it unless they seek sedition and then interpreting it, while nobody knows its interpretation except God and those firm in knowledge! So when they ask you about it, say: “Maybe some of the things which you want sooner have already arrived to you”[1] and do not argue with them about it and do not make it certain for them, until God brings a man to tell them about me, as I told them about him and he will make most of the things they have disagreements on clear for them!

5 . أَخْبَرَنا ذاكِرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، قالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ الْمَنْصُورِ فِي مَجْلِسٍ، وَكانَ النَّاسُ يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَيُجِيبُهُمْ، فَلَمَّا فَرِغُوا مِنْ أَسْئِلَتِهِمْ قالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ آتاكَ عِلْمًا لَمْ يُؤْتِ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعالَمِينَ، وَقَدْ وَعَدَنا عَلَى لِسانِ رَسُولِهِ رَجُلًا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَنْصُورُ، يُوَطِّئُ لِلْمَهْدِيِّ سُلْطانَهُ، وَأَنْتَ مَعَ عِلْمِكَ هَذا وَدَعْوَتِكَ إِلَى الْمَهْدِيِّ يُقالُ لَكَ الْمَنْصُورُ، فَهَلْ أَنْتَ هُوَ؟ قالَ: ما أَنا إِلّا رَجُلٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ! فَلَمَّا أَلَحَّ عَلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ قالَ: لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ قُلْتُمْ ما قُلْنا وَسَكَتُّمْ عَمَّا سَكَتْنا لَكانَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ! فَقالَ الرَّجُلُ: إِنَّهُمْ يُعَيِّرُونَكَ وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْ جاءَ ذَلِكَ الَّذِي وُعِدْنا لَتَظاهَرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَمْ يَسْتَتِرْ عَنْهُمْ! قالَ: كَذَبُوا! أَما بَلَغَهُمْ قَوْلُ عَلِيٍّ فِيهِ: «أَلَا وَإِنَّ مَنْ أَدْرَكَهَا مِنَّا يَسْرِي فِيهَا بِسِرَاجٍ مُنِيرٍ، وَيَحْذُو فِيهَا عَلَى مِثَالِ الصَّالِحِينَ، لِيَحُلَّ فِيهَا رِبْقًا، وَيُعْتِقَ فِيهَا رِقًّا، وَيَصْدَعَ شَعْبًا، وَيَشْعَبَ صَدْعًا، فِي سُتْرَةٍ عَنِ النَّاسِ، لَا يُبْصِرُ الْقَائِفُ أَثَرَهُ وَلَوْ تَابَعَ نَظَرَهُ»؟! قالَ الرَّجُلُ: إِنَّا نَدْعُو النَّاسَ إِلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ وَرُبَّما نُخاصِمُهُمْ! قالَ: إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْخُصُومَةَ، فَإِنَّها تَشْغَلُ الْقَلْبَ، وَتُورِثُ النِّفاقَ، وَتَكْسِبُ الضَّغائِنَ! إِنَّما عَلَيْكُمُ الدَّعْوَةُ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْخُصُومَةُ! قالَ الرَّجُلُ: كَيْفَ لا نُخاصِمُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْأَلُونَنا؟! قالَ: إِذا سَأَلُوكُمْ لِيُخاصِمُوكُمْ فَلا تُجِيبُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا لَهُمْ: ﴿اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ ۖ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ ۖ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ۖ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ!

Translation of the saying:

Zakir bin Maroof informed us and said: I was with his honor Mansoor in a session and people were asking about everything from his honor and his honor was answering them, then when they finished all their questions, a man told his honor: God has given you a knowledge He has not given to anyone else in the whole world, whereas He has promised us through the words of His Messenger about a man that will rise from this land and he is called Mansoor and he will prepare the ground for sovereignty of Mahdi, you are also named Mansoor while you have such knowledge and you are inviting to Mahdi, so are you him? He said: I am no one but one of the people! Then since that man insisted too much, his honor said: this is better for you to speak out what we speak out and to leave silent what we leave silent! Then that man said: they reproach you and say that if the person whom we have been promised was come, he would show himself to people and would not hide from them! He said: they lie! have they not heard the words of Ali about him that he said: “Be aware! One of us who will see that era will step in it with a luminous light and he will step on the footsteps of the righteous people so that he will open up a tie in it and will free a captive in it and will scatter a group in it and will gather a scattered group in that era, while he is hidden from people such that searchers would not find him even if they look for him constantly”?! That man said: we invite people toward this matter and we even quarrel with them (meaning hostile confrontation)! He said: avoid quarrels; because it preoccupies the mind and brings discord and causes hatred! Your only task is to invite and quarrel is not your task! That man said: how do we not quarrel with them whereas they ask us?! He said: whenever they asked you with the intention to quarrel with you (meaning hostile confrontation) do not answer them and rather say: “God is our Lord and your Lord, for us is the responsibility for our deeds, and for you for your deeds, there is no contention between us and you, God will bring us together and to Him is (our) return”[2]!

6 . أَخْبَرَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْراهِيمَ الشِّيرازِيُّ، قالَ: قُلْتُ لِلْمَنْصُورِ: أَسْأَلُكَ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: أَنْتَ كَنْزُ الطّالِقانِ الَّذِي وُعِدْنا؟ قالَ: وَمَنْ وَعَدَكُمْ؟ قُلْتُ: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، قالَ: فَاسْأَلُوهُما عَمّا وَعَداكُمْ وَاسْأَلُونِي عَمّا وَعَدْتُكُمْ! قُلْتُ: إِذًا أَنْتَ هُوَ! قالَ: لَمْ أَقُلْ هَذا! قُلْتُ: أَتَتَّقِينِي؟! قالَ: لا وَاللَّهِ، لا أُعْطِيكَ جِرابَ النُّورَةِ! قُلْتُ: إِذًا تُبْهِمُ فِي قَوْلِكَ، وَالنَّاسُ لا يَرْضَوْنَ مِنْكَ بِالْإِبْهامِ! قالَ: ماذا تُرِيدُ مِنِّي يا شِيرازِيُّ؟! أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ أَكُونَ كَالْحِمارِ، يَحْمِلُ كُلَّ ما يُحَمِّلُونَهُ؟! قُلْتُ: لا، جُعِلْتُ فِداكَ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ يَتَّهِمُونَكَ وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْ كانَ هَذا صادِقًا لَتَكَلَّمَ بِصَراحَةٍ وَما أَبْهَمَ! قالَ: إِنْ أَبْهَمْتُ فَقَدْ أَبْهَمَ اللَّهُ إِذْ أَنْزَلَ الْمُتَشابِهاتِ، وَإِذْ قالَ: ﴿يَسْأَلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ وَقالَ: ﴿وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ ۖ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا وَقال: ﴿قُلْ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِعِدَّتِهِمْ مَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ ۗ فَلَا تُمَارِ فِيهِمْ إِلَّا مِرَاءً ظَاهِرًا وَلَا تَسْتَفْتِ فِيهِمْ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا وَإِبراهِيمُ إِذْ قالَ: ﴿هَٰذَا رَبِّي ۖ وَإِذْ نَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ ﴿فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ ۝ فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ وَإِذْ قالَ: ﴿بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِنْ كَانُوا يَنْطِقُونَ وَيُوسُفُ إِذْ ﴿جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحْلِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَارِقُونَ وَإِذْ قالَ: ﴿هَلْ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ بِيُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ إِذْ أَنْتُمْ جَاهِلُونَ وَسُلَيْمانُ إِذْ قالَ: ﴿نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنْظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ ۝ فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَٰكَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِنْ قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ!

Translation of the saying:

Mohammad bin Ibrahim Shirazi informed us and said: I told Mansoor: can I ask you something? He said: yes, I said: are you the same treasure of Taliqan that has been promised to us? He said: who promised you? I said: God and His Prophet, he said: so ask them both about what they both promised you, and ask me about what I promised you! I said: in this case, that is you! He said: I did not say that! I said: are you doing Taqiyah from me? He said: no, I swear to God, I am not afraid of you! I said: in this case, you speak in ambiguity, while people would not satisfy with your ambiguity! He said: what do you want from me Shirazi?! Do you want me to be like a donkey that takes whatever they load on it?! I said: No, may I be your sacrifice, but they accuse you and say that if he was truthful then he would speak openly and would not make it ambiguous! He said: if I made it ambiguous, indeed God made it ambiguous when He revealed the Mutashabihat and when He said: “They ask you as if you are aware of it, say the knowledge of it is only with God, but most people do not know”[3] and said: “They ask you about the Spirit, say the Spirit is by the command of my Lord, and you have been given but little knowledge”[4] and said: “Say my Lord knows best their number, none but only a few know of them, so do not argue about it but lightly, and do not ask about opinion of anybody”[5] and Ibrahim, when he said: “This (star) is my Lord”[6] and when he looked at the stars, “So he said: I am sick; then they turned away from him”[7] and when he said “But this chief of theirs did that, ask from them if they speak”[8], and Yusuf, when “He put the goblet in his brother's saddle-bag and a crier announced: Oh men of the caravan! You are thieves!”[9] and when he said “Are you aware of what you did to Yusuf and his brother while you were ignorant?!”[10] and Sulaiman, when he said: “'Disguise her throne for her so we can see whether she is guided or if she is of those that are not guided; So when she came, it was said that is your throne like this?! She said it seems the same and we were given the knowledge before and we were Muslims”[11]!

7 . أَخْبَرَنا ذاكِرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، قالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ الْمَنْصُورِ فِي مَسْجِدٍ، نَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْعَقِيدَةِ وَالشَّرِيعَةِ فَيُجِيبُنا، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رِجالٌ لا نَعْرِفُهُمْ، فَقالُوا: أَفِيكُمْ رَجُلٌ يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَنْصُورُ؟! فَسَكَتْنا وَلَمْ نَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ، حَتَّى قالَ لَهُمُ الْمَنْصُورُ: نَعَمْ، أَنَا هُوَ! فَالْتَفَتُوا إِلَيْهِ وَقالُوا: هَلْ أَنْتَ خَلِيفَةُ الْمَهْدِيِّ؟! قالَ: وَهَلْ جاءَ الْمَهْدِيُّ حَتَّى يَكُونَ لَهُ خَلِيفَةٌ؟! قالُوا: لا نَدْرِي، وَلَكِنَّ فُلانًا وَفُلانًا وَفُلانًا مِنْ أَصْحابِكَ أَخْبَرُونا بِأَنَّكَ خَلِيفَةُ الْمَهْدِيِّ! قالَ: ما أَنَا أَمَرْتُهُمْ بِذَلِكَ! قالُوا: أَلَيْسُوا هَؤُلاءِ مِنْ أَصْحابِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْكَ صَباحًا وَمَساءً؟! فَظَهَرَ في وَجْهِ الْمَنْصُورِ الْغَضَبُ، فَقالَ: ما هَؤُلاءِ مِنْ أَصْحابِي، وَلَوْ كانُوا مِنْ أَصْحابِي لَاتَّبَعُونِي! فَلَمَّا رَأَوا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ أَغْضَبُوهُ خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ، فَأَقْبَلَ الْمَنْصُورُ عَلَيْنا وَقالَ: ما بالُ أَقْوامٍ يَحْمِلُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى أَكْتافِنا؟! أَلا يَخافُونَ يَومًا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ الْقُلُوبُ وَالْأَبْصارُ؟! حَدِّثُوا النَّاسَ بِما يَعْرِفُونَ، وَلا تُحَدِّثُوهُمْ بِما لا يَعْرِفُونَ، فَتُغْرُونَهُمْ بِنا!

Translation of the saying:

Zakir bin Maroof informed us and said: we were accompanying his honor Mansoor in a mosque and were asking his honor about beliefs and religious laws and he was answering. At that moment a number of men entered whom we did not know, then they said: is there someone among you who is called Mansoor?! So we all became silent and did not answer them, until his honor Mansoor answered them himself: yes, that is me! So they all turned to him and said: are you the caliph of Mahdi?! His honor said: has Mahdi ever appeared so that there will be any caliph for him?! They said: we do not know, but some of your helpers informed us that you are the caliph of Mahdi! His honor said: I never ordered them to say so! They said: are they not your helpers who come to you all the day and night?! Then we noticed signs of anger in his honor, Mansoor’s face and he said: they are not my helpers, if they were my helpers they would have obeyed me! So when they noticed that they have made his honor angry, they left. At this moment his honor turned to us and said: why do a group of people mount others on our shoulders?! Do they not fear from the day when hearts and eyes will be upside-down?! Tell people what they know and do not tell them what they do not know, otherwise you will raise them in rebel against us!

Explanation of the saying:

By this quotations it is understood that whenever helpers of his honor Mansoor, with whatever reason have come to this belief that his honor is the promised preparer of the ground for advent of Mahdi (Peace be upon him) and he has a special spiritual position, they should not impose their belief on others or share it with people who, due to their lack of knowledge and short-sightedness, are disappointed from mercy of God toward this righteous servant of His and they deem it impossible about him, rather they should emphasize on the certainties and incontrovertible fundamentals of Islam that have been explained in the noble book “Return To Islam” and they should avoid emphasizing on other subjects that have not been mentioned in this noble book; because emphasis on these secondary and marginal subjects will affect the certainties and incontrovertible Islamic fundamentals mentioned in the noble book “Return to Islam” and this will rise the enemies of the book of God and His Caliph to have more enmity against his honor Mansoor, so that by propaganda and false advertisements, they create pessimism in the minds of those people who are in a state of weakness and passivity about this honorable man and stop them from paying attention to the content of his invitation toward pure and complete Islam. Undoubtedly it is obligatory upon every Muslim to support his honor because of his invitation toward pure and complete Islam and also his practical preparation of grounds for advent of Mahdi (Peace be upon him) which is a visible truth, and therefore, emphasis on more intrinsic and extraordinary aspects of his characteristics, even if it is provable through valid logical and religious arguments, is not necessary and will cause disagreement among Muslims.
