Saying

A number of our companions informed us that when His Excellency Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani, may God Almighty protect him, heard of the intensity of people’s enmity toward him due to their ignorance and imitation, he raised his hands in dua and said:

“O God! Help your servant; because Your enemies have attacked him like wolves and surrounded him like hyenas while they compete with each other to kill him, fight each other for eating him, and their saliva is spilling on the ground! Their eyes are bloodshot with rage, and their claws are unsheathed like drawn daggers! Sometimes they rush at him, and sometimes they leap at him, with continuous roars that they repeat while they are hungry!

Now light Your torch, swing Your club, and frighten them with Your shout so they will run away like cats and climb up anything high; because they are heedless of Your presence and inclined toward any wrong! They always thirst for my blood and wait for my error! They count my words and follow my steps! They rejoice at my fall and laugh at my moans! Their breasts burn from my enmity, and their hearts are full of my hatred! They wish to crush my brain and hope to eat my liver! While I have not wronged them at all, nor have I robbed them of life or wealth, but rather I have only called them to Your way[1] and enjoined them to help Your Caliph[2] so that You may forgive them by Your mercy and bring them to the land that you promised them so they will eat from above their heads and beneath their feet and then never go hungry after they are full!

So is it right for them to be hostile toward me?! Or are they allowed to revile me?! While I am their merciful father and their caring brother, and I suffer for their happiness and risk my life for their salvation, without a wage that would be hard on them or a whip that would drive them back, so that they may find guidance after misguidance and a solution after the predicament, when the storm of fitnah blows upon them, the thunderbolt of chaos hits them, the hail of oppression rains upon them, and they find no refuge!”

Then he turned toward us and said:

“I am your candle in the darkness of the earth, so come near to me so that you may find light and do not stay away from me or you will be left in darkness, and God is Aware of what you do!’’
