Saying

Translation of the saying:

One of our helpers informed us and said: Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani wrote letters for several scholars and invited them to accompany him preparing for advent of Mahdi, but they were so arrogant to reply him and they considered his invitation as aberration and they insulted his envoy. So when the news of this event was delivered to his honor, he turned to his helpers and said:

“We belong to God and to Him we shall return. Indeed, this religion has suffered from its scholars more than it has suffered from its ignorant followers, and it has been hurt more by its jurisprudents than by its fools; because when an ignorant person slips, an ignorant person has slipped but when a scholar slips, the world will slip! Indeed, one single bad thing of a jurisprudent will destroy a thousand of his good things and his minor evil, will suffice his major well! Woe to the bad scholars those who seek satisfying the king; so they show the truth as false and false as the truth and they issue fatwas against the oppressed and to the benefit of the oppressor; those who eat the assets of Mahdi and prevent from his way; when they hear my invitation to him and consider it aberration, so that they can prevent people from accepting it and make them busy with things other than moving toward Mahdi, so that their sovereignty will be everlasting on earth and to be obeyed instead of him; just like the kohens of Bani-Israel who rejected the prophets of God and prevented them to establish His commandments, so that their position of being the imitation reference preserves forever and their income in the morning and night does not decrease!

Woe to those who have done all the recommended deeds and are negligent of the most important obligatory deeds! They know Nisab[1] of gold and silver, but they have no knowledge about the cause of the absence [of Mahdi]! They know Imam’s portion from Khums, but they do not remember Imam’s portion from ruling sovereignty! They consider doing prayer in other’s place as vain, but they consider governing instead of the appointed governor permissible! They see a little straw in people’s eyes, but they ignore the tree trunk in them! They scatter flies from the back of the people, but they leave the camel stay on it! Whereas whoever has an axe cut in his forehead is not afraid of a scratch on his finger and whoever is drowning in the sea, is not worried about having his dress wet! Have they not promised and did they not learn from the Book of God that do not talk about Him except the truth and do not prevent from His way and do not help the oppressor against the oppressed?! So Woe to them for the retribution in the worldly life and Woe to them for the fire that has been kindled for them”.
