When a group of young people who love the Mahdi wrote a letter to His Eminence Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani, declaring their support for him and seeking his guidance, he said:
Convey my Salam to them and say: When everyone inclines to the right and to the left, remain firm upon the middle path; and when everyone rushes toward Zayd and Amr, turn toward the Mahdi. Remember Allah often; and make Heaven your foremost concern; and perform prayer at the beginning of its time; and give Zakat to those entitled to it; and do good to your parents, for you will not remain with them for long; and enjoin what is right; and forbid what is wrong; and keep your affairs light; and leave whatever should be left; and take whatever should be taken; and prepare to migrate toward the Mahdi; for as soon as I find sufficient companions, I will migrate toward him, even if seven seas stand between me and him. Who is he that will guarantee ten thousand men for me, so that I may guarantee for him the advent of the Mahdi?! The Earth is decayed, and time is like a festering boil that has burst open; but the end belongs to the pious.
