(50) When a sufficient number of people do not turn to the proper will and action for the advent of Mahdi, they do not force God to change His tradition so that He would reappear Mahdi without their proper will and action, but they only causes God to take another tradition from His traditions, and that is to complete the argument against them by raising a warner and then removing them from the earth with a destructive torment so that a false and infinite sequence does not form. أَخْبَرَنا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطَّالِقانِيُّ، قالَ: قُلْتُ لِلْمَنْصُورِ فِي أَوَّلِ دَخْلَةٍ دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ: إِنِّي سائِلُكَ عَنْ أَشْياءَ، فَإِنْ أَجَبْتَنِي عَنْها عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ مِمَّنْ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تُجِبْنِي عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ! قالَ: سَلْ! قُلْتُ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْعالَمِ أَهُوَ حادِثٌ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: ما كانَ قَبْلَ حُدُوثِهِ؟ قالَ: ما كانَ قَبْلَ حُدُوثِهِ قَبْلٌ، قُلْتُ: فَخَلَقَ الزَّمانَ؟ قالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: مَتَى خَلَقَهُ؟ قالَ: ما كانَ إِذا خَلَقَهُ مَتَى، قُلْتُ: فَكَيْفَ خَلَقَهُ؟ قالَ: خَلَقَهُ بِخَلْقِ الْحَرَكَةِ، قُلْتُ: فَالْحَرَكَةُ أَوَّلُ ما خَلَقَ؟ قالَ: لا وَلَكِنْ أَوَّلُ ما خَلَقَ الْعَقْلُ لِيُعْرَفَ بِهِ فَيُعْبَدَ، ثُمَّ قالَ لَهُ: أَقْبِلْ، فَأَقْبَلَ، ثُمَّ قالَ لَهُ: أَدْبِرْ، فَأَدْبَرَ، فَجَعَلَ لَهُ الْحَرَكَةَ، قُلْتُ: مِنْ أَيْنَ إلَى أَيْنَ؟ قالَ: مِنَ الْقُوَّةِ إلَى الْفِعْلِ، ثُمَّ خَلَقَ مِنْهُ النَّفْسَ، فَجَعَلَها نُورًا، وَجَعَلَ النُّورَ دَرَجاتٍ، يَزِيدُ فَيَكُونُ رُوحًا بِقَدَرِهِ، وَيَنْقُصُ فَيَكُونُ جِسْمًا بِقَدَرِهِ، فَيُنْتَزَعُ مِنْهُ السَّماواتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَما بَيْنَهُما مِنَ الْجِمادِ وَالنَّباتِ وَالْحَيْوانِ وَالْمَلَكِ، وَكُلٌّ لَهُ نُورٌ وَمِقْدارٌ! قُلْتُ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِمَّنْ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَداءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ، وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا! وَاللَّهِ ما رَأَيْتُ أَعْلَمَ مِنْكَ! قالَ: صَدَقْتَ، وَلَكِنْ لَوْ بَقِيتَ مَعِيَ سَأُرِيكَ رَجُلًا هُوَ أَعْلَمُ مِنِّي، يُقالُ لَهُ الْمَهْدِيُّ!

Translation of the saying:

Abu Zakaria Ahmad bin Abdul Rahman Taleqani informed us and said: the first time I met Mansoor, I told him: I ask you about some things, then if you answer me, I realize that you are from those whom God has granted with blessing and if you do not answer me, I realize that you are from the claimants! He said: Ask! I said: inform me about the universe whether it is a creature? He said: yes! I said: What was there before it was created? He said: There was no “before”, prior to it was created! I said: so did He create the time?! He said: yes! I said: when did he create it?! He said: there was no “when”, when He created it! I said: then how did He create it?! He said: He created it with creating movement! I said: then movement was the first thing He created?! He said: no, rather the first thing He created was intellect, so that He would be known and worshiped with it, then He commanded it: come forward so it came forward, then He commanded it: move back so it moved back, so He set movement for it! I asked: from where to where?! He said: from potential toward action, then He created the soul from it, so He set it as light and made different levels for light that increase to the measure of soul and decrease to the measure of body, afterward, heavens and earth and all that is between them including inanimate things and plants and animals and angels extract form it and there is light and measurement for each of them! I said: I bear witness that you are one of those whom God has granted with blessing, you are from the truthful and the witnesses and the righteous and they are indeed good friends! I swear to God I have not seen anyone more knowledgeable than you! He said: you are right, but if you stay with me, I will show you a man who is more knowledgeable than me, he is called Mahdi!

Explanation of the saying:

This pure wisdom that is a rare gem, is full of novel points and amazing teachings and contains special knowledge that cannot be found anywhere except with friends of God from Mohammad’s family peace be upon him and his family and therefore, the clever inquirer was convinced that Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani is not a fool and mendacious claimant, but is an honest scholar from elected people of God who guides toward growth and uncovers the truth of Islam and prepares grounds for advent of Mahdi. Although many things can be said in explaining this pure wisdom, even a book can be written about it, but this brief explanation does not have the capacity to describe it and therefore, we suffice to this outline that firstly, based on what his honor said, time is a part of the created universe and has been created accordingly and with this description, it did not exist before the creation of the universe and has been created in the middle of no-time and therefore, questioning about what was prior to that or when it was created is meaningless; secondly, the very first thing that has been issued from God is intellect to be the basis for His cognition and worshipping; Thirdly in the nature of intellect, a inherent movement has been set by creation order of God and this inherent movement, has been the creator of time; fourthly, soul is created from intellect and for this reason, it can perceive; fifthly, soul has been set as a light which its nature is penetrating and contagious and spreads all over the place by traveling in time and therefore, creation of intellect has been the explosion of light and this light is still moving and advancing and whatever it is, in its reality is the soul; sixthly, this light from intellect which is soul, has experienced increase and decrease per creation order of God and therefore, the stronger and the weaker soul has been created; seventhly, this light from intellect and soul, is spirituality and therefore, whatever has increased has become spirit and whatever has weakened has become body and those things which are in between, proportional to its increase and decrease, possess spirituality and physicality and therefore, spirit and body both are from a luminous essence, to the extent that we can say: spirit is a strong body and body is a weak spirit; meaning that, this luminous essence is stronger in spirit and is weaker in body; eighthly, heavens and earth and everything in between them, including inanimate things and plants and animals and angels, have been created based on this integrated system and have extracted from this luminous light of intellect and soul; in a way that, depending on their share from it, which itself has different levels, they have got sheer physicality to sheer spirituality and of course their quiddity is “abstract”; because their existence is identical and only has different levels and therefore, depending on their amount of existence, they have got a quiddity to themselves; because each one of them has a “light” meaning an existence and “measurement”; as God has said: ﴿وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ[1]; “And everything has a measure before Him”!

Certainly, such pure teachings and unique wisdoms in the mind of the wise who comprehend speeches, are considered as verbal dignities and is an example of clear signs; because it speaks of the truthfulness of its speaker and the connection of his heart to the almighty place and therefore, the clever inquirer says after hearing it: “I bear witness that you are one of those whom God has granted with blessing, you are from the truthful and the witnesses and the righteous and they are indeed good friends! I swear to God I have not seen anyone more knowledgeable than you”! But it is strange that this most knowledgeable man that has ever been seen, when finds the inquirer astonished by his scholarly glory, instantly reminds him of the scholarly glory of Mahdi, in order to illustrate his true quiddity as the practical preparer of grounds for advent of Mahdi in all his gestures and behaviors and contrary to the claimants who are like empty vessels with high sound, despite the lack of scholarly knowledge, call people to themselves and never rest from saying “Me! Me!”, he called people to the Caliph of God and never rested from saying “Mahdi! Mahdi!” with all his scholarly glory. This is the difference between the truth and the falsehood that may be hidden from the eyes of the inwardly blind fools, but will never remain hidden from the eyes of the wise clever people and they will be the very helpers of Mansoor who will appreciate his value and will rush toward him even if that would be by crawling with hands and knees on the snow so that in his presence, they become educated to help Mahdi and provide the grounds for his sovereignty over the world, and indeed the future belongs to them, not to the claimants, not to the inwardly blind fools; even if, according to his beautiful explanation, “They have filled this borderless universe from border to border”!
