Just as a little farther away from them, oppressed Muslims in Palestine are being killed and displaced by cruel disbelievers, yet there is no one who steps forward to defend them, and poor Muslims in Central Africa are being slaughtered and burned by savage disbelievers, yet there is no one who acts to protect them; because the narrow paths of Palestine and the hot plains of Central Africa hold no attraction for these self-serving jihadists!

There is no doubt that today, the wars among Muslims in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are not based on Islam but on desires of the self. Therefore, anyone killed in these wars deserves Hell, contrary to his assumption. Likewise, it is clear that those who incite Muslims to these wars are corrupters on Earth, and repelling their evil is obligatory for any Muslim who has the ability to do so.

As a result, knowing will be possible only for one who has purged his self of baseless love and hatred, set aside his preconceptions and prejudgments, and based his satisfaction and dissatisfaction on Allah’s satisfaction and dissatisfaction.

4. Worldliness

Another impediment to knowing is “worldliness.” The intended meaning of worldliness is prioritizing things that the human being, due to his instincts, needs for the life of the world, regardless of the life of the Hereafter, and the absence of which does not necessarily harm the life of the Hereafter, such as the things that Allah Almighty has mentioned in His Book, saying: ﴿زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا﴾[1]; “The love of desires from women, children, accumulated treasures of gold and silver, fine horses, cattle, and cultivated land has been made pleasing to people; this is the enjoyment of the life of the world.” It is clear that human life, based on what is known from the intellect and Sharia, is not limited to the life of the world. Rather, the life of the world is a prelude to the life of the Hereafter. Rather, the life of the Hereafter, in relation to the life of the world, is like the original in relation to the counterfeit;
