considering that what is understood from it is the inevitable domination of some of the believing, righteous, oppressed, beloved, striving, kind, and brave servants of God over the earth in future, and Mahdi is the best example of these servants in view of descriptions mentioned for him in the mutawatir narrations from the Prophet , and therefore, his domination over the earth in future is inevitable according to the promise of God Almighty in the Quran; as He has said: ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ[1]; “O people! Undoubtedly, the promise of God is true,” and said: ﴿وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ[2]; “This is the promise of God, and God never breaks His promise,” and said: ﴿فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِ رُسُلَهُ[3]; “So do not suppose that God will fail to keep His promise to His Prophets,” and said: ﴿إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ[4]; “Indeed, what you are promised is certainly true,” and said: ﴿إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ[5]; “Indeed, what you are promised will certainly happen.” Based on this, it is appropriate that the belief in the inevitability of the advent of Mahdi as God’s Caliph on the earth and a man from the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet , who will fill the earth with justice and equity by establishing the perfect and pure Islam, should be counted as one of the certainties of Islam and unanimously agreed upon by Muslims so that it will be the basis for their unity in future.

[Non-advent of Mahdi on the earth, and the necessity of his advent]

This is while the earth has not yet been filled with justice and equity, and this means that Mahdi has not yet appeared on it, and those who think that he has appeared on it are wrong. Of course, what is meant by his advent is not only people’s access to him but also his domination over the earth; as God Almighty has said: ﴿يَا قَوْمِ لَكُمُ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ظَاهِرِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ[6]; “O people! The rule is yours today, while you are dominant on the earth,” and said: ﴿فَأَيَّدْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَى عَدُوِّهِمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا ظَاهِرِينَ[7]; “So We supported those who believed against their enemies, so they became dominant,” and it is clear that his advent, in the sense of his domination over the earth after people’s access to him, is necessary for the realization of the promise of God and His Prophet; because what is understood from their promise is that the earth will be filled with oppression and will not be filled with justice before the advent of Mahdi, and this means that the sovereignty of God on the earth will not be realized before the advent of Mahdi;
