Rather, it is clear that obedience to an oppressive ruler, due to the opposition between oppression and justice, conflicts with obedience to the Just Ruler, Who is Allah Almighty. Therefore, maintaining the sovereignty of an oppressor necessitates negating the sovereignty of the Just, Who is Allah Almighty. Thus, attributing its legislation to Allah Almighty is attributing the legislation of an indecency to Him, which is considered as fabricating lies against Him; as He has said: ﴿وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آبَاءَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ[1]; “And when they commit an indecency, they say: ‘We found our fathers upon it, and Allah has commanded us to (do) it!’ Say: ‘Undoubtedly, Allah does not command what is indecent. Do you then say about Allah something you have no knowledge of?!’” Similarly, the Ahl al-Hadith consider following an oppressive ruler, which is an indecency, to be a belief of the predecessors and a matter related to Allah’s command. This is precisely what Allah has explicitly denied and regarded as fabricating lies against Him, to the extent that perhaps believing in it after this explicit denial is a perversion of Islam and an exit from it.

Moreover, it is certain that Allah’s purpose of legislation is the realization of justice among people; as He has said: ﴿لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَنْزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ[2]; “Indeed, We sent Our Messengers with clear signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance so that people would rise for justice.” However, the sovereignty of oppressors undoubtedly prevents the realization of justice among people, and therefore, legislating obedience to them and maintaining their sovereignty defeats Allah’s purpose of legislation, which is considered a contradiction within His legislation and is impossible; as He has said: ﴿أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ ۚ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِ اللَّهِ لَوَجَدُوا فِيهِ اخْتِلَافًا كَثِيرًا[3]; “Do they not reflect upon the Quran?! If it had been from other than Allah, they would surely have found within it much variation.”

Furthermore, it is clear that the sovereignty of oppressors, even if it does not necessitate the opposition of their followers to the intellect and Sharia, at least necessitates their own opposition to the intellect and Sharia.
