like those about whom Allah Almighty has said: ﴿بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ﴾[1]; “Rather, they are playing in a doubt.”

[Consequences of Ignorance of Islam]

The outcome of this approach is that the beliefs of Islam have been inverted, and its rulings have been reversed; obvious polytheism has been viewed as monotheism, and undisputed bid‘ah has been regarded as the Sunnah; evident halal has been introduced as haram, and evident haram has been called halal; those who are definitely disbelievers have been counted as Muslims, and those who are definitely Muslims have been considered as disbelievers! Falsehood has put on the mask of the truth, and the truth has been concealed behind the veil of falsehood! Every day, a faction appears somewhere, and every night, a sect is born in a corner! Knowledge has yielded its place to conjecture, and guesswork has taken the place of certainty; as Allah Almighty has said: ﴿إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ﴾[2]; “They follow nothing but conjecture and do nothing but guess,” while conjecture varies with different causes and guesswork is as numerous as people, and this produces nothing but conflict; just as it has produced nothing but conflict, and Muslims are engaged in conflict in every corner.

From another direction, they do not know each other and are unaware of each other’s viewpoints. Therefore, they do not like one another and accuse each other of bad things, while they often have no knowledge of what they attribute to one another and only follow negative assumptions; because their bond with each other has been broken, and they have become divided in terms of sect, politics, and race; like those about whom Allah Almighty has said: ﴿مِنَ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ﴾[3]; “Of those who divided their religion and became different groups, each faction rejoicing in what they have.” Just as Sunni Muslims hate Shia Muslims,
