As God Almighty has said: ﴿وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ﴾[1]; “And whose word is better than one who invited toward God and did good and said: ‘I am one of the Muslims’?!” While he has brought the truth so that whoever is pious will confirm it; as God Almighty has said: ﴿وَالَّذِي جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ۙ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ﴾[2]; “And the one who brought the truth and confirmed it, they are indeed the pious,” and whoever is the most unjust of people will fabricate lies against God and deny the truth; as God Almighty has said: ﴿فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِالصِّدْقِ إِذْ جَاءَهُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِلْكَافِرِينَ﴾[3]; “So who is more unjust than one who fabricated lies against God and denied the truth when it came to him?! Is there not in Hell an abode for disbelievers?!” Although I would have preferred that this word would have been heard from someone other than me; because if someone other than me would have said it, he would have made me not need to say it and removed a heavy burden from my shoulders, but no one else said it, and it was heard from none but me. Yes, a man before me rose from this land and said some of what I said; because he invited toward someone who would please the family of Muhammad, but he took the government from Banu Umayya and gave it to Banu Abbas, while the family of Muhammad were not pleased with Banu Abbas. So I feared that if I stood by, a man like him would rise from somewhere and repeat his mistake; in this way that he would take the government from some oppressors and give it to some other oppressors in the name of the satisfaction of the family of Muhammad. So I wanted to prevent this strife and not leave room for his ilk. Then I heard that a call to falsehood was raised in the West, so I wanted a call to the truth to be heard in the East so that it would not be just the call to falsehood heard in the world lest Muslims agree on falsehood and the punishment of God be sent on them; because the government belongs to God alone, and He gives it to whomever He wants from among His servants, and He has wanted none but Mahdi of Fatimah, who pleases the family of Muhammad and all Muslims. So I rose to prepare the ground for his government in order to provide him with sufficient men and equipment, after I saw Muslims going astray from Islam and became aware of their need to return to it, and I thought that I and they were passengers of the same ship, in such a way that my salvation depends on their salvation, and my annihilation is connected with their annihilation.
