for calling to desiring, assisting, and obeying anyone other than him is not legitimate, and Allah has prohibited cooperating in it, saying: ﴿وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ﴾[1]; “And do not cooperate with one another in sin and transgression”—so that those who are eager to help the Mahdi and find the strength for it within themselves may come to me and unite with one another in my presence; may, through their efforts, the ground for his appearance be prepared and news of him reach us, then we shall set out toward him and join him—as has been written and promised before.

What I outlined in this writing is a depiction that aligns more with the religion that Allah has perfected and approved for His servants, since I adhered to nothing but the Book of Allah, the widely transmitted reports from the Prophet, and the definitive judgment of intellect, and I avoided every impediment to knowing, conjectural opinion, and solitary report. Nevertheless, if anyone knows of a depiction that aligns more with Islam than this, he should follow it, for Allah knows best which depiction aligns more with it; as He has said: ﴿قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَى شَاكِلَتِهِ فَرَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ هُوَ أَهْدَى سَبِيلًا﴾[2]; “Say: ‘Everyone acts according to his own disposition. So your Lord knows best who is more guided.’”

In any case, this is my path, along which I go toward my Lord—like the one who said: ﴿إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ﴾[3]; “Indeed, I am going toward my Lord; He will guide me”—so that whoever finds it right may accompany me, and whoever does not find it right, Allah knows best those who are guided; as He has said: ﴿قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي ۖ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ﴾[4]; “Say: ‘This is my way: I call to Allah upon insight; both I and whoever follows me. And exalted is Allah, and I am not of the polytheists’”—for this is my belief, upon which I worship Allah, so that whoever finds it true may aid me in expressing it, and whoever does not find it true may aid me in reforming it, since Muslims are brothers to one another and are more deserving of reforming one another;
