From here, it is understood that being a descendant of Fatimah and Husain is a condition for the caliph, even though the main condition for him is his appointment by Allah and through the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). Based on this, the reports transmitted to prove the caliphate of those other than the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) are not authentic; because they are solitary, uncertain reports and contradict the Book of Allah and the widely transmitted reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). Moreover, individuals affiliated with the Umayyad current and opposed to the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) are seen among their narrators. For this reason, many leading hadith scholars have explicitly declared them weak and their narrations inauthentic. Rather, in all fairness, all these reports are false and have been fabricated to please the Umayyad rulers and out of hostility toward the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). Anyone who examines their chains of narrators will come to realize this fact[1].
