After understanding the criterion for knowing, the impediments to it, and the causes for the non-establishment of Islam until now—which are essential for knowing and establishing Islam purely and perfectly—it is time to know Islam, and this is based on understanding several topics:

First: The Concept of Islam

The concept of “Islam” is submission to the will of Allah, which becomes necessary by knowing Him; because when the human being pays attention to his own creation, he realizes the existence of a creator for himself, since he knows that his creation is not possible without a creator, and that his creator cannot be himself; as Allah Almighty has said: ﴿أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ[1]; “Or were they created by nothing, or are they themselves the creators?” Accordingly, he realizes that this creator has not been created like himself; for if the creator were created like him, he would also need a creator like him—whereas the need for every creator to have another creator, without ultimately reaching a self-sufficient creator, would result in non-creation; considering that no creation in the world is possible without a creator. If there were no creator in the world without a creator, then there would be no creation in the world. However, every creation in the world has occurred and is possible. Therefore, there is a Creator in the world who has always existed and has never needed a creator, and this self-sufficiency of His indicates His perfection; because His not needing a creator is not possible except with His perfection, since every imperfection is a need for a creator, and accordingly, anything imperfect is considered a creation.
