Preface

I praise Allah as He must be praised, and I send peace upon His Prophet, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), as he deserves it. As for what comes next: The purpose of this book is to provide a theoretical groundwork for the practical return of Muslims to Islam—meaning their establishing it after having neglected it; assuming they have abandoned the proper establishment of Islam, given that its outcomes are not evident among them; rather, the outcomes of its abandonment are evident among them. Therefore, there is no room for debate about the necessity of their return to Islam, and clearly, this return is possible only through knowing Islam and comparing it with the understanding they have had of it so far. Moreover, knowing Islam is not possible without a criterion and with the impediments existing in its path. Therefore, identifying the criterion for knowing Islam and the impediments to this knowledge is essential for attaining the former and removing the latter. Based on this, discussing the return to Islam necessitates addressing four topics:

First, the preliminaries to knowing, including its criterion and impediments in order to know Islam and return to it.

Second, the necessity and possibility of returning to Islam, meaning the necessity and possibility for Muslims to establish Islam perfectly and purely after they have neglected it.

Third, the impediments to returning to Islam, meaning the causes and motivations behind the abandonment of its establishment after the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) up to the present.

Fourth, knowing Islam, meaning knowing its beliefs and rulings based on certainties, free from illusions and conjectures.
