as Allah has emphatically said: ﴿إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ[1]; “Governance belongs to none but Allah,” and: ﴿أَلَا لَهُ الْحُكْمُ[2]; “Be aware that governance belongs to Him,” and: ﴿لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْأُولَى وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُ الْحُكْمُ[3]; “Praise in the world and the Hereafter is His, and governance belongs to Him,” and: ﴿فَالْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْكَبِيرِ[4]; “So governance belongs to Allah, the Most High, the Great,” and: ﴿لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ[5]; “Dominion belongs to Him, and praise is His, and He has power over all things,” and: ﴿ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ۖ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّى تُصْرَفُونَ[6]; “That is Allah, your Lord—dominion belongs to Him. There is no god but He—so where are you turning away?!” Based on this, it is certain that the right of sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him, and no one shares in it with Him; as He has said: ﴿مَا لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا يُشْرِكُ فِي حُكْمِهِ أَحَدًا[7]; “They have no guardian besides Him, and He does not share His governance with anyone,” and: ﴿الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ[8]; “The One to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the Earth and Who has taken no child, and there is no partner for Him in dominion,” and: ﴿ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْ قِطْمِيرٍ[9]; “That is Allah, your Lord—to Whom belongs dominion. And those whom you call upon besides Him do not own even the membrane of a date seed.” This means that human beings do not have even the slightest share in sovereignty; as Allah has said in a manner of improbability: ﴿أَمْ لَهُمْ نَصِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ فَإِذًا لَا يُؤْتُونَ النَّاسَ نَقِيرًا[10]; “Or do they have a share in dominion, in which case they would not give people even the speck of a date-stone?!” Rather, sovereignty belongs entirely to Allah; because He alone is the One Who has created the world, knows its needs, and can fulfill them.
