If any imperfection has appeared in it that has led to the lack of development of Muslims, it has not originated from Allah but from Muslims themselves; because they have taken parts of Islam and abandoned parts of it, failing to establish all of it perfectly. However, Allah has clearly warned against this, saying: ﴿أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ ۚ فَمَا جَزَاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَى أَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ[1]; “Do you believe in part of the Book and disbelieve in another part?! What is the punishment for one among you who does so other than humiliation in the life of the world, and that they will be returned to the severest punishment on the Day of Judgment?! And Allah is not unaware of what you do.” Clearly, the humiliation of Muslims in the life of the world is a consequence of this selective approach to Islam. Therefore, their return to the severest punishment in the Hereafter is certain, according to Allah’s promise. Likewise, Allah has explicitly threatened those who adopt a discriminatory approach in the realm of religion and has deemed it impermissible to act upon some parts of the Quran apart from some other parts of it, saying: ﴿كَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ ۝ الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ ۝ فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ۝ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ[2]; “Similarly, We sent down upon dividers—those who break the Quran into parts; so, by your Lord, We will surely question them all about what they used to do.” Rather, He has considered His Prophet to have no concern with those who have divided their religion and have not established the entirety of it as an uncompounded unit, saying: ﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا لَسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ[3]; “Indeed, those who divided their religion and became sects—you have no concern with them! Their affair is only with Allah, and then He will inform them about what they used to do.”

As a result, the establishment of Islam leads to the realization of happiness and deliverance from problems only when it is established entirely as a single ruling; considering that Islam is, in fact, a single ruling, and the components existing within it are like the components existing in a device, which, despite their multiplicity, form a single device, and the failure of each of them affects the functioning of the other components and stops the entire device from working.
