yet it is unable to solve their problems—rather, it is itself the cause of the emergence or exacerbation of their problems. Therefore, there is no choice but to abandon it and turn to other foundations. For this reason, they openly call for the separation of religion from the world, view Islamism in society as an obstacle to its development and progress, and try to replace its beliefs and rulings with human beliefs and rulings. In contrast, those who believe in Islam know that it is a perfect and happiness-bringing religion with the capacity to solve the material and spiritual problems of Muslims, and if it has not yet solved these problems, it is because either its original form, as it is, or its entirety, with all its parts, has not yet been established. Therefore, they have no choice but to set the realization of both the original form and the entirety of Islam as their ideal and strive to achieve it, and this is the meaning of returning to Islam.

The Necessity of Establishing Islam

Undoubtedly, those who believe in Islam and consider its establishment essential for attaining happiness and deliverance from problems are correct; as Allah Almighty has commanded it, saying: ﴿أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ[1]; “That you establish the religion and do not be divided concerning it,” and: ﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ أَقَامُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَأَكَلُوا مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ[2]; “And if they had established the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have eaten from above them and from beneath their feet.” However, as has become clear, the establishment of Islam is sufficient and achieves the purpose if carried out in two forms:

1. Establishing the Original Form of Islam

The establishment of Islam leads to the attainment of happiness and deliverance from problems when its original form is established, considering that not all beliefs and rulings attributed to Islam are part of it. This is because Islam is an independent external reality that has originated from the will of Allah Almighty, and the will of Allah Almighty is commensurate with His perfection and, accordingly, is not linked to the will of others who are imperfect.
