[Inclination Toward Superstition Among Salafi Muslims]

In any case, this is a fatal illness that has occupied the hearts of Shias and made it extremely difficult for them to know the truth, and clearly, its origin is nothing but the inclination toward superstition. Of course, such folk approaches are not exclusive to them and have also tainted other groups of Muslims to a greater or lesser degree, to the point that even among Salafists—with all their narrow-mindedness and rigidity—there are many superstitions. Some fatwas occasionally issued by their muftis resemble delirious nonsense; because many superstitions have found their way into their narrations, and their anti-intellectualism is the origin of every calamity. This is regardless of the fact that some of their fatwas are issued by order of oppressors and to insult Islam, having no basis even in their narrations, considering that some of these muftis are hypocrites and hirelings of oppressors, deliberately fabricating lies against Allah and His Prophet.

[Summary of Impediments to Knowing]

As a result, the inclination toward superstition is one of the greatest impediments to knowing the truth and returning to Islam. Along with the previous impediments, it has played a significant role in the emergence and exacerbation of the problems of Muslims. Of course, the impediments to knowing are not limited to these seven cases, and other instances can also be mentioned. However, it appears that the other cases are relatively minor compared to these seven and can easily be classified under them. For example, moral decadence is one of the greatest factors preventing Muslims from knowing and returning to Islam, but it clearly originates from ignorance, worldliness, and desires of the self.

In any case, what is certain is that Muslims have no choice but to fight against these impediments in order to recognize the “best statement” and return to pure religion. It is essential that, through mutual cooperation, they launch a broad cultural movement aimed at combating ignorance, imitation, desires of the self, worldliness, fanaticism, arrogance, and the inclination toward superstition in all their manifestations, and that they concentrate all their political, economic, and promotional programs on this movement so that the way is paved for the reform of the Ummah and the realization of the ideal of Islam.
