Hadith No. 12
“People have always been such that there has been one among them whom they have been commanded to obey since the time of Nuh, peace be upon him.”
Translation:
Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Bābawayh [Died in 381 AH] has narrated in the book of “Kamāl al-Din wa Tamām al-Ni’mah”, (in this way that) has said: My father and Muhammad ibn Hasan may God be pleased with them, narrated to us, they said: Sa’d ibn Abdullah and Abdullah ibn Ja’far al-Himyari narrated to us, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isā and Muhammad ibn Isā ibn Ubayd, from Hussayn ibn Sa’id, from Ja’far ibn Bashir and Safwān ibn Yahyā both, from Mu’alli ibn Uthmān, from Mu’alli ibn Khunays that said:
I asked Abu Abdullah — meaning Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq — peace be upon him: Have people, from the time of Noah peace be upon him until now, been like other than this that there has been someone among them whom they have been commanded to obey? He said: They have been always like this, but most of them do not believe.
Consideration
Translation:
Mansoor may God protect him, said: Mu’alli ibn Khunays is not alone in narrating this narration, but rather Hārun ibn Hamzah al-Ghanawi has accompanied him.
