Translation:
Abd al-Shakur ibn Zulmai al-Wardaki informed us, he said: I asked Mansoor about the words of God Almighty that has said: “Ask the well-informed of Him.” So he said: “(It means) asking one who is well-informed of Him.” Then he said: “Indeed, there is a man among people who is well-informed of God that it is obligatory for them to ask him so that he tells them about God, so whoever of them dies without knowing this man has died in ignorance and misguidance.” I said: “How can they know him?!” He said: “If they held on to the Book of God and any of His Caliphs on the earth, it would not be hidden from them, but they turned away, so ‘God sealed their hearts, ears, and eyes, and they are the heedless.’”
