Hadith No. 11
The Ummah is never without one who fights for the truth until the command of Allah comes.
Translation:
Ahmad ibn Hanbal [d. 241 AH] has narrated in his Musnad, (in this manner that) he has said: Yazid—meaning ibn Harun—narrated to us, (he said:) Isma‘il—meaning ibn Abi Khalid—informed us, from Qais ibn Abi Hazim, from Mughirah ibn Shu‘bah, from the Prophet , who said:
Some people from my Ummah will always fight steadfastly upon the truth, until the command of Allah, Exalted and Majestic, comes to them.
Consideration
Translation:
Mansoor said: Mughirah ibn Shu‘bah was a bad man in both the pre-Islamic and Islamic eras, and he was from the people of Sham. And we mentioned his hadith (as an authentic one) only because others have narrated it alongside him. And we do not consider the hadith of the people of Sham except when early narrators from the people of Iraq or the people of Medina have narrated it alongside them. And we do not speak ill of all the people of Sham, for there were righteous men among them; as it has been narrated from Safwan ibn Abdullah that a man said on the day of Siffin: “O Allah! Curse the people of Sham.” So Ali said: “Do not revile the people of Sham collectively, for among them are those who hate what you see, and among them are the Abdal.”
