Hadith No. 6
The Earth is never without a scholar who purifies the religion for people.
Translation:
Ali ibn Babawayh [d. 329 AH] has narrated in the book al-Imamah Wa al-Tabsirah, from Sa‘d, from Muhammad ibn Isa ibn Ubaid, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, Safwan ibn Yahya, Abdullah ibn Mughirah, and Ali ibn Nu‘man, all of them, from Abdullah ibn Muskan, from Abu Basir, from Abu Abdullah—meaning Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq—, who said:
Indeed, Allah has not left the Earth except that there is a scholar on it who knows addition and imperfection, so that when believers add, he brings them back, and if they decrease, he perfects for them, then he says: “Take it in its perfect form.” And were it not so, the affairs of believers would have become doubtful for them, and the truth would not have been distinguished from falsehood.
Consideration
Translation:
Mansoor said: Such is our statement to people: Take the religion in its perfect and pure form, without any imperfection in it or any addition with it; for its example is like that of fire: if it increases, it burns the food, and if it decreases, it does not cook it.
