Translation of the letter:
Beware, O people! Hear me if you have ears to hear, for I will give you an example: Indeed, your example in the life of the world has been like that of a child who has lost his mother in the crowd, so in the hope of finding her, he grasps the skirt of every woman and follows her for a while, until he sees unkindness from her and finds out that she is not the mother, then he leaves her while wailing and grasps the skirt of someone else, until the darkness of the night surrounds him and its cold kills him, while there is no helper for him! This has been your example in the life of the world that in the hope of achieving justice, you have set your hearts on every government and followed it for a while until you have seen oppression from it and realized that there is not justice in it, then you have overthrown it while shouting, and turned toward another government! Thus, in the search for justice, sometimes you have tended to the East and sometimes to the West; sometimes you have run to the left and sometimes to the right; sometimes you have turned toward Zayd and sometimes toward Amr; sometimes you have set your hearts on monarchy and sometimes on democracy! While justice has been neither in the East nor in the West; it has been neither in the left nor in the right; it has been neither in Zayd nor in Amr; it has been neither in monarchy nor in democracy! Justice is only in the government of God, who is aware of your measures and places, and none but He can find a way to it, even though one searches and strives hard, except for the one whom He has guided to it, but you have despaired of His mercy and neglected His Mahdi, and therefore, you have entrusted the government which He has wanted for His Mahdi to those for whom He has not wanted a government! It seems the government is the inheritance of your fathers that you take it from whomever you want and give it to whomever you want, and it seems it does not belong to God who has said: ﴿قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ﴾; “Say: O God! You are the Owner of the government! You give the government to whomever You will and take the government from whomever You will”, and He has given it to Ibrahim and made a covenant with the just from among his descendants, and said: ﴿وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا ۖ قَالَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ﴾; “And when God tested Ibrahim with some words, then he fulfilled them, He said: I am going to appoint you as an Imam for people, he said: And also my descendants? He said: My covenant does not reach the oppressors”, and the just from among his descendants are those whom God has willed to remove all impurity from them and to purify them completely, and they are in the Book of God the Ahl al-Bayt of Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family, and it is hereby understood that Mahdi of God is from the household of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and the Ahl al-Bayt of Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family, and whoever chooses a ruler other than him has gone far astray.
It is surprising that people in every era have pledged allegiance to someone and made the covenant of guardianship with someone but have not known that no one can accomplish it and do it justice, except for the one whom God has guided and enabled to do so! They have sought justice from people that justice has not been with them, and expected from their rulers what has been beyond their ability! How can someone do justice when he is not aware of people’s measures, nor does he know their places, rather he does not know his own measure and is out of his own place?! How can someone do justice when he himself is an oppressor and has sat in the place of someone else, and how can someone reform when he himself is corrupt and has corrupted the world?! Did people not travel throughout the earth and observe the story of their fathers who have knelt before every government begging for a sip of justice and kissed the hands of every ruler, but none of them has had mercy on their thirst or given them a sip of justice?! While, I swear to God, they have been thirstier than to be quenched with a sip, and nothing can quench them but a big river! So what has happened that from the first day until today, the friends of God have always been ruled over, and the friends of Satan have always been rulers! The children of the Prophets have always sat in homes, and the children of claimants have always sat on pulpits! The Imams of faith have always been without helpers, and the Imams of disbelief have always had many helpers! If there is a palace, it is always for oppressors, and if there is a hut, it is always for the pure! If there is a power, it is always for polytheists, and if there is an immigration, it is always for the Prophets! If there is an allegiance, it is always for those like Yazid, and if there is martyrdom, it is always for those like Husain! If there is a government, it is always for the misguided, and if there is an absence, it is always for the guided! What is this disgrace that has pervaded through history, and what is this madness that has dominated the world?! Do people not have eyes to see that their rulers are all oppressors and do not do justice?! Or do they not have ears to hear that their politicians are all liars and do not tell the truth?! Or do they not have intelligence to find out that their leaders all mislead and do not lead?! So how long will this pus-filled wound be opened, and how long will this madness continue?! Beware, O people! Tell me! How long should you, like dead drunks, stagger from the right to the left and from the left to the right until you finally understand that the right and the left are the same for you, and there is no justice in either of them?! Tell me! How many other governments should you test, and how much other obedience should you pay the price for until you finally find out that no government but the government of God will bring you to justice, and no obedience but the obedience to His Caliph will free you from oppression?! Is this thousands of years of experience not enough?! Are these heavy prices not enough?! Did you not hear Nimrods and Pharaohs? Did you not bear Khosrows and Caesars?! Did you not see caliphs and kings?! Did you not test republics and Islamics?! So have you not yet learned your lesson?! How long will you salt this old wound?! And how long will you continue this historical madness?!
Beware, O cruel kings and emirs who shed the blood of the innocent to gain and maintain domination! Beware, O hypocritical jurists and mullahs who unrightfully consider yourselves to be appointed by God and guardians of Muslims of the world! Beware, O greedy politicians who vie to take over the government! Beware, O deceitful political parties who seek nothing but power! Beware, O criminal cults and groups who strive to achieve superiority on the earth! Leave these troubled people alone and go away from between them and their owner! Are thousands of years of oppression and corruption not enough?! Is a history of humiliation and poverty not enough?! Are you not tired of all these evil doings and giving rise to fitnahs?! Then when will you end this childish game?! Then when will you stop these repetitive methods?!
Now, bring your ears close to hear; because I am a caller calling out from a nearby place: O people! Is it not time that you returned to your origin?! Is it not time that you remembered the covenant of God with your father Adam?! Is it not time that you gave the trust back to its owner and returned the government to the one who deserves it?! Do you still have hope in these colorful governments? Do you still think that if Amr comes to power instead of Zayd, things will go right?! How many Amrs came to power instead of Zayds, but things did not go right; because things will go right by something else, but you are unaware! Then how long will you sit in the hope of this and that and raise the flags of this and that high?! How long will you humiliate yourselves and kiss the hands of this and that?! How long will false promises deceive you and vain desires play you?! How long will you, like donkeys in a mill, spin around an axis and have the illusion of making progress?!
Beware, O people! How is it that for thousands of years you have backed every imperfect animal up but have not given your hands to the perfect man?! How is it that for thousands of years you have sucked every moisture and left the sweet sea?! How is it that for thousands of years you have run after every mirage but have not taken a step toward delectable water?! Will you not come to your senses and return to the origin?! Will not you wake up from sleep, and will this nightmare not end?! Will you not come out of the darkness, and will this dark night not have dawn?! Will you not sober up from drunkenness, and will this confusion not go away from your heads?! Will you not open your eyes and suddenly move and stand on your feet?! Will you not raise your heads and see anything other than what is right in front of your feet?! I see as if you were suckled from the breast of ignorance and raised on the lap of oppression, and your flesh and blood are unfamiliar to me! Beware, do not let your not knowing me prevent you from accepting my invitation; for I am your well-wishing brother, inviting you toward the truth, and you hear my voice when I call out: Come back, return to Islam; because you have got far away from it! You have strayed from your origin and forgotten yourselves! You have abandoned your intellects and become like children and madmen! You have violated the covenant of God and neglected the inheritance of His Prophet; the very covenant He made with your father Ibrahim, and the very inheritance about which he said: «مَا إِنْ تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي»; “As long as you hold firmly to them, you will never go astray after me”! So you have neglected it and gone far astray after him; to the extent that you have left the orchard and grazed on the thorny land, you have left the sweet sea and sucked moisture, you have abandoned clean food and bitten carrion, you have thrown away pure honey and chewed a bitter apple, you have abandoned the government of God and submitted to the government of Satan! While the orchard is better for you than the thorny land, the sweet sea is better for you than moisture, clean food is better for you than carrion, pure honey is better for you than a bitter apple, and the government of God is better for you than the government of Satan!
Beware! Do not entrust your guidance to anyone other than Mahdi; because no one asks the way from the blind or goes to the sea with a punctured ship! So do you seek a government other than the government of God?! While justice is only in the government of God; the government which will be realized by His guided Caliph, not by others, and caliphs, kings and jurists are alike in this matter, except that they differ in the manner of oppression, and some oppress more than some others; like killers who all kill, except that some suffocate, some decapitate, and some give poison!
Listen to my words; because you will not hear words better than them: Your world will not be reformed except with justice, your Hereafter will not go right except with justice, justice will not be possible except with the government of Mahdi, and the government of Mahdi will not be established except with your help, but most of you do not know!
Explanation of the letter:
O you servant of God! If your heart is not surrounded by the darkness of fitnahs, then observe this enlightening advice so that you may find the path of salvation, know the one who leads to it, realize that his invitation is the manifest truth, and any invitation other than that in our time is a misleading invitation. Then read it to everyone close to you, and have other people know about it, may it be that they, like you, accept it, stop contributing to the government of taghut, turn toward contributing to the government of God, prepare the ground for the advent of God’s Caliph, Mahdi, with their wealth and themselves, and gain contentment of the world and the Hereafter after a prolonged misery.
