Imam Mahdi peace be upon him is the Imam of all Muslims, and he is not dedicated to a specific sect, but some Islamic sects may have more cognition about his excellency. In any case, the relation of his excellency to Muslims is like the relation of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali ibn Abi Talib to them that all of them accept him as the Caliph, but some of them consider him as the fourth Caliph and some of them as the first Caliph. Although there is less discord among them about Imam Mahdi peace be upon him, because they all regard him as the 12th Caliph, and from the household of the prophet, and appointed by God, and they only disagree over his father and his birth time, and this is a disagreement that does not do any harm to the necessity for preparation for his advent.
