What is Allamah Khorasani’s opinion about video phones? Is their use haram according to Sharia?

In case that video telephone call would not be any sort of economic or security help to the unbelievers, then it does not have any law by itself, and its law is the subject to the law of what is seen and heard with it. However, it is better that the use of these new Western tools be limited to necessity; because their production and dissemination are often within the framework of the capitalist system and based on colonial goals, and experience has shown that their prevalence among Muslims does not have good cultural consequences. The Internet, satellite, television, radio, mobile, and the like, are now in complete control of unbelievers and oppressors and are supported and managed for their political, economic, and cultural interests. Therefore, His Honor Allamah Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani may God protect him, does not recommend the use of these tools for those who do not need them urgently and he avoids them as much as possible; as some of our helpers informed us, they said:

«كانَ الْمَنْصُورُ یَكْرَهُ أَنْ یَمُسَّ نَقْداً بِیَدِهِ كَأَنَّما یَسْتَقْذِرُهُ فَیَقُولُ لِأَصْحابِهِ: خُذُوهُ وَ كانَ لا یَنْظُرُ إِلَی التِّلْفازِ إِلّا مِنْ ضَرُورَةٍ وَ كانَ لا یَحْمِلُ مَعَهُ جَوّالاً وَ كانَ أَشَدَّ شَيْءٍ كَراهَةً عِنْدَهُ الْإِنْتِرْنِتُ، فَقُلْنا لَهُ: أَ حَرامٌ هِيَ؟! قالَ: لا وَ لَكِنِّي أَجِدُ مِنْها قَساوَةً فَأَعافُها»; “His Honor Mansoor disliked to touch money with his hand as if he considered it unclean, so he said to his companions: Take it, and he did not watch television except for necessity and he never carried a mobile phone with him and the most detestable thing to him was the internet, so we said to his Honor: Are these haram?! He said: No, but I feel these things carry cruelty, so I stay away”.
