The Raj’at of some dead people to the world before the Day of Resurrection is possible; because God has informed about its occurrence in His Book and has said: ﴿أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ خَرَجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَهُمْ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ اللَّهُ مُوتُوا ثُمَّ أَحْيَاهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ[1]; “Did you not see those who fled their homes for fear of death, and they were thousands in number, so God said to them: Die, then He again made them alive? Indeed God is bountiful to mankind, but most of the people are ungrateful”; as He has informed about the return of a group of Bani Israel after being killed by lightning strike[2], and the return of Ezra peace be upon him after a 100-year-long death[3] and the return of some dead people with the miracle of Jesus peace be upon him by permission of God[4], and the possibility of the return of some ruined villages after liberation from Gog and Magog[5]. Therefore, believing in the possibility of return of some dead people back to the world before the Day of Resurrection is obligatory, but believing in its definitive occurrence in the future is not obligatory; because its definitive occurrence in the future is not understood from the Quran and Mutawatir Sunnah, and intellect does not realize its necessity either, although it accepts its possibility and God is able to do everything.
