Translation of the saying:

Mansoor Hashemi Khorasani, in describing his traits, said to a group of his companions:

I and justice are twins, and I have been accompanying the Book and the Sunnah since I existed; I have neither fallen behind nor moved ahead nor hesitated. Behold! By Allah, if all people abandon me until not a single person stays with me under this rotating gray, I will not doubt that I am upon guidance and they all are in misguidance. Be aware! I am one of those who are not deterred from the path of Allah by the rebuke of a malicious one, nor are they afraid of the blame of blamers; their word is the word of the truthful, and their deed is the deed of the righteous; those who always are guides for the lost and strive to revive the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet; they neither act arrogantly nor seek superiority; they neither indulge in excess nor betray; they neither abandon the truth nor incline toward falsehood; those who never defile mind with impurity; they are neither deceived by the flattery of flatterers nor afraid of the turning away of those who turn away; their hearts are always flying in the High Place, and their tongues are ever speakers of the best word. Behold! Do not hasten for what is contingent on moments; because a nestling does not fly until it grows feathers, and lightning does not thunder until it flashes.

Explanation of the saying:

His Eminence’s intended meaning of this fluent and eloquent saying, which is considered the heritage of the family of Ibrahim and the peculiarity of the Hashemites, is that he does not compromise with falsehood, nor does he refrain from exposing and reproaching it, even if it leads to the dispersion of people around him and their hostility toward him; because, unlike others, he does not seek to gather people around himself by any means possible, but rather he seeks to gather people around the Mahdi in a manner befitting him. Therefore, he does not become tainted with lies, flattery, deceit, paying bribes, or taking bribes, and His intended meaning of “the rotating gray” is the sky that is encompassed by day and night; because gray contains both black and white, and the rotation of the sky is the rotation of its stars, sun, and moon, and his intended meaning of his wonderful statement “Behold! Do not hasten for what is contingent on moments; because a nestling does not fly until it grows feathers, and lightning does not thunder until it flashes” is that although he does not tolerate falsehood, he cannot rise against falsehood until the necessary means and facilities for it are available. Therefore, it is not right for people to hastily expect him to rise, but rather they must be patient and provide help until the conditions are prepared. His Eminence said this saying when he heard that some ignorant people, due to his not rising, had accused him of hesitation, cowardice, compromise, etcetera, which he has nothing to do with.
